‘Be Like That’

I just heard this song from 3 Doors Down. I used to sing this a lot in gigs. It’s one of my favorites, because it narrates the process of dreaming, something we all go through. It somewhat captured how my day went.

Earlier, my internal medicine group had our last preceptorial session. Instead of having patient discussion, we requested to have a sem-ender celebration. We ate pizza and chicken, heard medical career stories from our cool preceptor and ended the party with song and dance numbers. 

Looking back, I can say that I’ve really gained a lot from my preceptors. Most of them focused on giving a glimpse of what it’s like in real world medicine, not the traditional, textbook picture of the medical field. I guess we were also lucky, that none of them were toxic in terms of workload. And even more encouraging, was that all of them excel in their fields of specialties. I sometimes can’t help but say, ‘that’s what I wanna be like when It’s my time’.
